Episode 08: Educating customers through marketing with Kathy Cheng, President of WS & Company Ltd

In this episode of The Marketing Innovators podcast, we sit down with Kathy Cheng, President of WS & Company Ltd. Kathy is also the founder of Redwood Classics Apparel, a high-quality clothing brand based in Canada.

At the start of the interview, Kathy discusses how Redwood Classics Apparel developed and restructured over the years and the family aspects behind the brand. She also discusses the challenges the family has faced with running the clothing business over the years.

Kathy goes on to speak about the importance of educating customers about Redwood Classic Apparel’s clothing. She discusses how they used social media marketing to educate potential customers and how they eventually transformed from a B2B brand to a B2C business using Shopify. 

Toward the end of the episode, Kathy talks about how Covid-19 has affected the marketing strategies behind Redwood Classics Apparel. 

The episode wraps up with Kathy giving her best advice to new and current marketers. That is, to believe in the product or service you are marketing. She believes without faith in your product, you won’t have the passion and drive to market it the best you can.
